Bars Closing Once Again
California is just one state that's closing its bars again amid the record jump in coronavirus cases. “COVID-19 is still circulating in California, and in some parts of the state, growing stronger,” Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a written statement. “That’s why it is critical we take this step to limit the spread of the virus in the counties that are seeing the biggest increases.”

The Next Coronavirus Epicenter
This week, coronavirus death tolls surpassed 500,000 worldwide and confirmed cases exceeded 10 million as the WHC reported the most infections for a single day. Infections are rising quickly in Florida and Texas, making them the next prime candidates to be the next coronavirus epicenter. Dr. Amesh Adalja of the Johns Hopkins University Center for Health Security, appears on "Bloomberg Markets" to discuss what's to come.

NY, NJ, CT Set Quarantine Advisories
KTLA reports that governors in the northeast, once considered the US epicenter of the coronavirus, are now tightening restrictions in their states for travelers from areas that are seeing upward trends in positive coronavirus cases and hospitalizations. “As an increasing number of states around the country fight significant community spread, New York is taking action to maintain the precarious safety of its phased, data-driven reopening,” New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a statement this week. “We’ve set metrics for community spread just as we’ve set metrics for everything the state does to fight COVID-19, and eight more states have reached the level of spread required to qualify for New York’s travel advisory, meaning we will now require individuals traveling to New York from those states to quarantine for 14 days.”

Malls Need AC to Stay Open
New York malls, as a primary example, are now required to have high quality air systems that can filter out the coronavirus before they will be allowed to reopen, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said this week. High efficiency particle air filters, or HEPA filters, have been shown to help reduce the presence of Covid-19 in the air, according to a presentation from Cuomo. “Any malls that will open in New York, large malls, we will make it mandatory that they have air filtration systems that can filter out the Covid virus,” Cuomo said at a press briefing.

New York Lions Masked Up
As reported by CBS News, the New York Public Library's iconic lion statues, Patience and Fortitude, are now wearing 3-foot face masks. The library will begin opening some locations on July 13, with face masks being mandatory for patrons. The lions are surely trying to set an example to remind New Yorkers to stay safe.

Trump Retweets, Then Deletes, 'White Power' Video
The edited video shows a white man riding in a golf cart bearing “Trump 2020” and “America First” signs. In response to a protester shouting “Where’s your white hood?” and other taunts, the man in the golf cart pumps his fist in the air and says “White power!” twice. After receiving criticism, Pres. Trump deleted the tweet three hours after retweeting it.

Trump Supports "St. Louis Karen and Ken"?
A video of a St. Louis couple pointing a handgun and a rifle at demonstrators went viral this week. The peaceful protesters in St. Louis were marching to the mayor’s home to demand her resignation when they were confronted by the couple at gunpoint. Pres. Trump's retweet of the video was shortly deleted from the president’s account after a few hours; a White House spokesman said Trump had not heard the inflammatory words before sending the footage on to his supporters.

Biden Criticizes Trump's Coronavirus Response
“It didn’t have to be this way,” Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said at Alexis I. duPont High School. Washington Post commented that Biden did not wear a mask during his speech, but he did hold one in his left hand for much of his address. “Month after month, as other leaders and other countries took the necessary steps to get the virus under control, Donald Trump failed us.” Biden stated.

Fauci's Grim Warning
"It's extremely important to have safe and effective vaccines available for everyone in this country," Dr Anthony Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told a US Senate committee. Fauci, however, also cautioned that "there is no guarantee ... we'll have a safe and effective vaccine." Fauci continues to urge Americans to work together to contain the virus.
